The path from the carpark (0.4m Section) is quite rocky and would not be suitable for people uncomfortable on non-path surfaces. However, the views at the top are worth it

Knight Nubble is a forested peak tucked away in a mossy area of the Mansell - Bernard summit region. The overgrown terrain makes this area a unique change from the bare bedrock of much of the rest of the park. There is an overlook to the east of the peak that offers views toward the center of the island. Knight Nubble makes a great place to stop for a picnic before continuing up the ridge. The ascent is a steep ladder of natural roots from the east.

a beautiful path leads to this point - alternating soft moss and flat rocks, my descent was quite steep so I would recommend the steep path in reverse.

The summit of Mansell Mountain itself is tucked away in the trees, but there is an overlook near the top of the Perpendicular Trail. The entirety of the Perpendicular Trail ascends a steep set of stairs from Long Pond carved into the mountainside and provides views of Long Pond and Beech Mountain from rock faces, forested lookouts, and rockslides.

Long Pond, or "Great" Long Pond, is the largest freshwater body in the park. From this overlook it makes an excellent example of glacial activity where the terrain was scooped out by rocky ice chunks many tens of thousands of years ago.

Beech Mountain is nested between Echo Lake and Long Pond, and from the base of the historic fire tower hikers can see most of the peaks on the western half of the island. The top of the fire tower itself is often closed to the public. This is a great sunset hike, but visitors should be sure to bring lights if hiking during twilight.
