Tips from the Community

Daniel Krueger
December 8, 2023, Terri Peak

Terri Peak certainly offers one of the best views of the nearby Lake Perris and its surrounding hills. The hike to the top of the mountain includes some inclines but isn't very tough, even though you won't find much shade along the path.

There are a number of trails along the creek, which links the trailhead to switchbacks and other trails up the west side of the hill. You can cross the creek in a couple places, including a human-sized culvert dubbed "The Trial".

Dragon Peak is marked by an iconic flagpole. From here you get panoramic views over the surrounding towns and hills. The terrain is mostly small rocks and grasses.

There is plenty of parking at the Canyon Hills Community Park. From the park there are a few paths up the hill toward the trail. The climb up toward the hill is steep loose stone from this side but the view is well worth it. You can also hike along the creek and go up the back way, which is more gradual.
