At the very back of the Short Springs Natural Area on the Adams Falls Trail is a small, yet intriguing, waterfall named Adams Falls. The waterfall is a cascade off a drop of a few feet. The waterfall is seasonal, but if you hit it at the right time, you'll likely get it all to yourself.

Over 60 feet tall and nearly 60 feet wide, Machine Falls is the biggest waterfall in the Short Springs Natural Area. There is a short spur trail that leads down to the base of the falls, and multiple trails give access to the spur trail. The falls are situated in a dense forest and kind of surprise you when you walk up on them.
