The gorgeous campground offers direct access to the Rocky Knob Recreation Area. Some sites take reservations and others are first-come first-serve, and the campsite roads are completely paved. Lots of families end up staying here so keep your eyes peeled for kids and pets.

Grassy Knoll is one of many overlooks on this portion of the Blue Ridge Parkway. It is more or less a wide open grassy field with some trees in the back and some rocks throughout the meadow. Hikers like to use this as a break spot since the views are so open and the terrain is not too rough to take a seat on.

This old cabin on the side of the trail is what remains of the Trail Family Cabin. It is considered to be an accurate representation of what a lot of the early pioneer cabins looked like in the Appalachian area. You can't actually go inside the cabin, but you can look around the outside, and you can even see through the log walls into the interior of it.
