Most direct route is the Pine Hill Trail which takes off from the Bicentennial Trail and features a granite step trail from bottom to the summit. On 28 NOV 25, route was initially dry, but a snow squall covered the trail and mountain with snow, making the descent a bit slippery in spots. However the beauty of this first snow of this winter made it wonderful.

The Purgatory Chasm State Reservation area has unique geological formations and is open to the public as a recreational area. The main attraction is the chasm formed by ancient glaciers with towering granite walls. The chasm is popular for hiking, rock climbing, and nature viewing.

Although it's not very high in elevation, 571-foot (174 m) Peppercorn Hill still offers very nice views over the conservation area of the same name. The best views near the summit are sometimes accompanied by a bit of road noise, but it feels much quieter when you're down in the valley below.

The Kelly Property in Peppercorn Hill Conservation Area is actually divided into four distinct parcels, but they all lie fairly close to each other. All together, they are made up of wetlands, mature upland forest, and some nice rocky outcroppings that give you great views.
