Popular around Obernberger Lake
We walked this route because it was recommended on our local map (the side of Panorama Aktiv Hotel) but it was insanely heavy and quite dangerous (the Grey Rocky part). So anyone walking this route I really recommend being an advanced walker / hiker, well rested, have good gear, a lot of water and snacks and preferably with someone (so not alone) if you’re not really experienced! :) Be safe!

Here, you should definitely choose the path over the road.

The Furtalm is a beautiful mountain hut destination – especially for families – in the upper Pflersch Valley. When the higher-altitude huts are already closed, the hike there is a real treat, particularly in autumn with the first snow on the Pflersch mountains.

I only recommend this route from or to the Pflerscher Tribulaunhütte to hikers who are sure-footed and have a good head for heights. Anyone coming from the hut and feeling unsafe in the area of the Martian landscape should turn around and use the other descent.
