The ideal resting spot: the benches outside the farmhouse and a stream flowing alongside. It's located in the middle of a quiet plain where the only sounds are the marmots and eagles.

The miracle of Don Dresco, a stonemason priest. The Oratory of the Immaculate Conception in Crego, in addition to being located in one of the most suggestive spots of the Antigorio valley, has a peculiarity that makes it unique in its kind. It was built with his strong hands in the nineteenth century by a priest, Don Lorenzo Dresco. Don Lorenzo almost always did everything by himself, even the slender colonnade rough-hewn in the granite with blows of a chisel. He did it both because he was passionate about the work of the magutt, and because he was short of money like many of his colleagues in that Ossola not yet colonized by the Milanese.

A narrow, tight gorge. Here you stand on a small bridge about 50m above the Toce. Very impressive.

The best time for waterfall hiking is generally during the warmer months, from late spring to early autumn (May to October), when the snow has melted, and the waterfalls are at their fullest due to snowmelt. During winter, some areas may be accessible with skis or snowshoes, offering a unique, frozen landscape experience.
The Alpe Veglia and Alpe Devero Natural Park generally welcomes dogs, but it's always recommended to keep them on a leash, especially in areas with wildlife or grazing cattle. Check specific trail regulations or local signage for any restrictions before you go.

Trekking poles can also be helpful on steeper or uneven terrain.
To avoid crowds, consider visiting during the shoulder seasons (late spring or early autumn) or on weekdays rather than weekends. While specific 'less crowded' waterfall trails are not explicitly identified, exploring routes earlier in the morning or later in the afternoon can often provide a more serene experience. The Sentiero Italia: Anello Riale - Rifugio Margaroli is a longer, more challenging route, which might naturally have fewer hikers than shorter, easier paths.
