Tips from the Community

Euphemia Anna 🌳
May 19, 2024, Protestant Church Kapellen-Drusweiler

"Built around 1200 as a chapel at its current location, the name of the southern part of the town [of Kapellen-Drusweiler] is derived from it. It was rebuilt as a church between 1717 and 1719 after a devastating fire. The church tower was only added in 1846 to replace a ridge turret. Fortunately, the renovations in 1727, 1817, 1961 and 1984 only slightly changed the historical appearance that we see today." The church has a rare "silent" organ. In the southwest of a small chestnut forest there is an idyllic meadow with a wooden pavilion and a single bench: a particularly beautiful picnic spot! https://www.suedlicheweinstrasse.de/suewpicknick/suew-picknickplaetze/infosystem/Picknickplatz-Keschdebusch_Kapellen-Drusweiler/infosystem.html At the end of the annual “Rose Weeks” in the Bad Bergzaben region, the central catering station of the Kapellen-Drusweiler “Keschdebuschfest” is located here. Permitted as a picnic spot for hikers/walkers, but for private parties you need the permission of the Kapellen-Drusweiler municipal administration!

A bench without a backrest under a solitary walnut tree: a beautiful, shady spot in summer; idyllically situated amidst the (rapeseed/wheat) fields and vineyards!
