The Armand Lahontang indoor arena was inaugurated in 1982. Rectangular in shape, the stands surround the track on three sides. The eastern side, along its length, adjoins the basketball court, separated by removable talanquères and rolling curtains. These structures provide the town with a large sheltered space, ensuring that events can continue even in inclement weather. Bullfighting shows with cows are held in our arenas. The Landaise bullfighting competition and the cockade competition represent a strong identity of our region. For a long time, and still today, players in these two disciplines have come from our village. The French young jumper champion, for two years, was a Poyannais. In 2024, his brother won this title: the trophy thus returned to the village. As for the French raseteur champion, he was a Poyannais for several years. Henri Emmanuelli (1945-2017), Member of Parliament and President of the Landes Departmental Council for over three decades, served several times as Secretary of State under François Mitterrand in the 1980s and as President of the National Assembly between 1992 and 1993. He lived in Laurède. The Memorial was inaugurated on September 10, 2018, by sculptor Jacques Raoult and architect Michel Cantal-Dupart. These two artists previously collaborated on the sculpture of the François Mitterrand Memorial in Soustons. Henri Emmanuelli, the most emblematic political figure in the Landes region, is immortalized seated on a bench, his gesture relaxed but his gaze fixed on the Pyrenean horizon and the Eaux-Bonnes mountains, where "Ricou," the grandson of an Ossalois shepherd, was born. source: https://www.tourismelandes.com/patrimoine-culturel/memorial-henri-emmanuelli-pcuaqu040v50r0cp/

The church of Sainte-Croix is a 12th century Romanesque church located in the municipality of Carcarès-Sainte-Croix which has around 520 inhabitants and is located in the center of the Landes, between Mont-de-Marsan and Dax. The village is a very ancient settlement, due to the river, on the edge of which two "fortified" Romanesque churches were built and have been almost entirely restored.
