Monte de Batres is a small hill of 645 meters. Located in the southwest of Madrid, between the towns of Bartes and Serranillos del Valle, it has a magnificent pasture landscape and is a good option for a walk among holm oaks.

This town of medieval splendor stands out for its walls and its castle, curiously built outside the walls as its function was purely defensive. It was a place of great importance until the 16th century, on the same level as other cities such as Segovia. Today it is a good place to stop on a route through the area.

Town of entrance to the region of La Sagra from Madrid with monuments that testify its historical importance over the centuries. Its 14th-century Mudejar-style castle is unique in its style in Toledo and the roll of justice whose presence meant that the mayor had jurisdiction to judge. The town is surrounded by extensive cereal fields and olive groves typical of the Toledo steppe.

Fantastic as well as there are more paths to follow, with a very good stretch, not difficult and great to go with the children, as I always say.

I loved the climb, Induráin style 👍, the views from the top are beautiful. On the descent, if more than one cyclist is riding together, I recommend that you leave space as there are certain dangerous points that are good for the adrenaline.

Although I have only climbed it once (and quite badly, by the way), the so-called "Mortirolo" of Batres is quite well known among cyclists in the area. It is a climb of about two kilometers, with an average gradient of four percent and a climb of about ninety meters.
