В Калужской области В Жуковском (ранее Угодско-Заводском) районе, между деревнями Истье и Воробьи, в лесном овраге находится источник, который местные называют Петровским ручьём. Это небольшой проток, вытекающий из склона оврага и впадающий в реку Истье. Его облагородили: сделали бетонные стенки и возвели над ним двускатную крышу. Существует местная легенда, что родник получил название потому, что сам Пётр I останавливался здесь и пил воду.

Часть грунтовки проходит по травянистым лугам, часть - по лесу. Если по лугам ещё можно с трудом ехать по ямам и лужам, то лесная часть дороги представляет собой трудно проходимую грязевую жижу с липкой грязью, буреломом и глубокими колеями от трактора. Большая часть пути - идти пешком с велосипедом.

В деревне Стрелковка, 1 декабря 1896 года родился Георгий Константинович Жуков. В 1988 году там была сооружена архитектурно-скульптурная композиция «Родина Маршала Г. К. Жукова» (архитектор Е. И. Киреев, скульптор В. Х. Думанян). В неё входят памятник Жукову и «Древо жизни» высотой 13 метров, символизирующее судьбу полководца. Также в деревне реконструирован родительский «Дом Жукова».

Село с древности принадлежало князьям Щербатовым, одной из ветвей рода Оболенских. Живший здесь в конце XVII в. князь К.И. Щербатов, крупный военачальник, отличался любовью к храмоздательству. На его деньги была возведена колокольня в Свято-Пафнутьевом Боровском монастыре, а в своей усадьбе он построил два каменных храма. Храм в честь Воскресения Христова небольших размеров был построен в 1674 г. Его архитектура принадлежит к московскому стилю зодчества. В боковых отделениях трехчастного алтаря устроены самостоятельные приделы, единственные по своей миниатюрности среди древних храмов Калужского края
