A tour in the Valli di Comacchio is a tour into the realm of flamingos and fish farming. Countless flamingo colonies stay in the waters and wade through them. From a distance, it looks as if the flamingos are walking on water. Fishing and fish farming are an important part of the lagoon and the surrounding towns. Verdict: absolutely worth seeing!

The "Damm der Engel" / "L'Argine degli Angeli" – is a spectacular cycling and hiking trail. It runs from the Bellocchio canal for approx. 6 km over the waters of the Comacchio lagoon on a dam with a fine gravel surface and a width of approx. two meters. At the start, the path seems never-ending. The further you cycle into and over the lagoon, the wider and more expansive the lagoon lake becomes. Enchanting water reflections alternate to the right and left of the dam, and sometimes cloud formations look like they have been painted. A route where there is no place for haste, it is time to pause and enjoy… Rating: particularly valuable and unique… Photos speak louder than words!

The bridge over the Bellocchio canal is practically the transition from the mainland to the Valli to complete the circular route or the path through the waters of the Valli.

From the bridge over the canal and from the observation tower next to it, the view of the fishermen's huts is particularly worth seeing.

Seawater, sun and wind to produce the famous sweet salt of Cervia which until 1960, before the introduction of processing machines, was carried out with shovels, rakes, baskets and wheelbarrows in 150 salt pans; at the end of the 80s, thanks to retired volunteers, sons of old willing salt workers, the only remaining salt pan was cleaned and put back into operation and produced 600 quintals of salt; its processing dates back to Roman times, as demonstrated by the discovery of a lock and other artifacts from the 3rd century BC; in the Papal era, it even seems that Cervia was demolished and rebuilt closer to the sea to make salt production more functional.

A unique place near the sea, pine forest and nature, to visit in every season but not after a rainy period as the ground could be impassable

The flamingos were beautiful, I saw them for the first time, but they were all white because I did the tour in August.
