The chapel dates from the 15th century. It originally served to support pilgrims to St. Wolfgang. They made their pilgrimage to St. Wolfgang am Wolfgangsee. Today, the cemetery of the village Distelhausen is located at the chapel. The cemetery features a Way of the Cross by Friedrich Buscher.
