The Heinder Mühle (also Innerste-Mühle) is a historic mill building in the Heinde district of the town of Bad Salzdetfurth (Hildesheim district) directly on the Innerste river. Some key facts about the mill: History: A mill site at this location has been documented since 1465. After several fires (including in 1827 and 1881), the current brick building was constructed in 1881. Use: Active milling operations ceased in 1957. Afterwards, the listed building was converted into a residential house. Today: The hydropower of the Innerste river continues to be used for electricity generation at the mill site. Additionally, the picturesque surroundings with the nearby fish ponds are a popular destination for hikers and cyclists.

The Innerste is far more than just a river in Hildesheim – it is the city's „green lung“, a historical stage and, unfortunately, also a factor for natural forces.

The bridge had already been closed to traffic since December 2024. It will now be demolished to make way for a planned new construction. In parallel, the road surface will be renovated over a 2.3 km section.
