A beautiful passage from Mije to Nieuwkoop v.v. along the lakes through the green. For walkers there are, on certain parts, separate walking lanes along the lakes. The meadow is inhabited by sheep. Please note that the concrete path can be dirty from sheep droppings and pee.

The water tower in De Meije (Netherlands) was designed by the architects C.B. Posthumus Meyjes and J.J. van der Linden and built between 1931 and 1932 and has been a listed building since 2001. It is one of the water towers built using the slipform system. The tower is 57.65 meters high. The water reservoir at the top of the tower has a capacity of 450 m3. During the restoration in 1977, the tower was painted white instead of gray.

A very nice route. We drove the tour on Thursday and stopped at the blacksmith museum open from 2-4 pm. The forge fire was lit and a short demonstration was given. A small but nice museum. Entrance was 4 euros for adults and 2 euros for children. Worth the effort.

Shift down and drive smoothly! This is a very beautiful cycle path between 2 puddles, but absolutely not suitable for cycling faster than you would with a city bike. It's really too narrow and crowded for that
