Adjacent to country house and park De Blanckenborgh in Twente's Haaksbergen lies an iconic, 11-ton granite erratic boulder, placed around 1960 in a park near Enschedesestraat and Wiedenbroeksingel. The grounds of this historic area were long owned by the families behind De Blanckenborgh. The gigantic fieldstone, weighing approximately 11 tons, was brought from Albergen in Overijssel to Haaksbergen around 1951. The boulder was placed during the tenure of Mayor Eenhuis, who was known for his love of large fieldstones and had several collected in the municipality. The park with the erratic boulder is located near the historic entrance and former grounds of villa De Blanckenborgh on Enschedesestraat, close to the former estate of textile families.

The De Boezemvriend polder mill was built in 1871 to replace a previous model, but did not yet have its current name at that time. The mill was used to drain the Zuidlaren polder until 1934.
