The church is essentially a late Romanesque fieldstone building from the first half of the 13th century, consisting of an apse and a hall. It was renovated around 1662, and the windows were enlarged. A plastered square tower with a flat spire and a lantern from 1734 above the west gable accentuates the building. The interior, with its three-sided gallery, is Baroque in style. The pulpit altarpiece with two aisles and the Baroque altar with its column frame date from the mid-18th century. The octagonal, chalice-shaped sandstone baptismal font dates from the early 17th century.

The fieldstone church was built in the first half of the 13th century. It consists of a nave and a recessed chancel with an apse in the east. In 1798, a timber-framed roof tower was added to the gable roof of the nave on the west side. Its square storey is followed by an octagonal one, which houses the bell cage. A slate-covered Italian dome sits above it. After 1980, a wide dormer window was converted into a simple skylight, and after 2007, the chimney on the east end of the nave's ridge was removed.
