This stretch of the shore of Lake Finjasjön (Sjön means lake in Swedish) is also known as the Gold Coast. The shore here is sandy and adorned with several old, sometimes very mighty trees. There are also several picnic tables that invite you to stop at this idyllic spot.

This picnic table is a great place to stop for a longer rest on a hike. Since there are no trees obscuring the view, the view is very beautiful.

From 1804 until the 1920s, a water-powered mill stood here. Today, only ruins remain. An information board provides more information about the site.

Here you'll find three modern shelters and a large barbecue area. You can also stay overnight in the cabins, but you must reserve them in advance. You can find more information here: https://hovdala.se/h/upptacka-och-gora/hovdala-vandringscentrum/overnatta-och-rasta/boka-unika-vindskydd

Beach with a large parking lot along the road. At the north end of the beach (on the right-hand side when viewed from the road) there is a beautifully mown, fenced-off lawn that is perfect for camping. Whether this is officially intended remains to be seen. At least nobody has anything against it, although someone who was apparently in charge was briefly on site during my stay.
