Very nice tour By bike from the sawmill to Rantensee, back to the Ebenhandlhütte (highly recommended) further out to the "Bahnhof" and on to the sawmill (approx. 20km in total).

Fortner Chapel with the Styrian Herrgott, Krakau Styrian Herrgott, Krakau As early as the plague years, at the beginning of the 18th century, a house chapel can be identified at the "Fortner" farm. The current chapel was built in 1887. The place of worship is masonry, with an approximately square floor plan, and above the gable roof rises a steeple with a small bell. The altar of the chapel is designed in the form of a triptych from the central part and two side parts of the early Baroque high altar of the parish church of St. Oswald, which had to make way for the current high altar in 1776. Dorfmuseum, Krakaudorf 21, Krakau In 1995, a village museum was opened in the former, approximately 400-year-old smokehouse (Rauchstubenhaus) vulgo Waltl, in which "what remained of the past was gathered." Several exhibition rooms illustrate how people once lived in Krakau. You enter the house through the antechamber, the Lab'n. The central room is the smokehouse with its brick cooking hearth and dining area. An old loom also stands here. There is also an old maids' and farmhands' chamber with its furnishings, as well as a shoemaker's workshop from the time when craftsmen still went out on "Stör" (to work at customers' homes). A guest room from the early 20th century is located on the upper floor, showing the simple accommodation of the first summer visitors. Numerous implements, such as butter churns, riffles, oven dishes, sewing machines, and milk cans, as well as the tools of woodcutters and carpenters housed in display cases, illustrate the once-hard working world. In the old barn, there is a collection of carriages and sleds, plows, farm carts, and other items that have long been "out of fashion." Village Museum "Waltlhaus" Krakaudorf, Krakau The village museum in Krakaudorf brings you closer to the culture of the valley. This is a former smokehouse, whose roots probably date back to the 12th century. What has remained from the past is gathered here. Pfarrkirche St. Oswald in Krakaudorf, Krakau The current parish church of Krakaudorf was first mentioned in documents in 1234 as a chapel. In 1427 it was named as a church and in 1445 as a branch church of Ranten. In 1892, the St. Oswald vicariate was established as a parish. The church was built in the 14th century. The choir area was rebuilt between 1759 and 1764 by Franz Jager. The north wall is considered the oldest part of the house of worship, the wooden coffered ceiling with rosette pattern was donated in 1534 by Georg von Liechtenstein. The branch church St. Ulrich in Krakauhintermühlen is a Styrian gem and houses a Gothic winged altarpiece. Ulrichskirche am Hollerberg, Krakau The Ulrichskirche at the entrance to the Etrachtal valley, which dates from the end of the 15th century and is one of the few Gothic rural churches. No structural changes were made over the centuries. The late Gothic St. Ulrich church on the Hollerberg, at the entrance to the Etrachtal valley, dates from around 1500 and has remained almost unchanged. You will find a painted wooden beamed ceiling from the early 16th century here. The special feature of the church, however, is the Gothic winged altarpiece, whose predella was painted after a design by Albrecht Dürer. Pfarrkirche Krakauebene, Krakau The parish church in Krakauebene is dedicated to St. Ulrich. During the 19th century, the following were purchased for the church, among other things: various religious paintings, a confessional, a high altar in the Romantic style, an organ with six registers.
