Perfectly rideable alternative to the highway.

A little sandy, but quite rideable forest track that can be used as a quieter, safer and more picturesque alternative to the highway. Perhaps, a better idea would be to enter/follow it straight from/to Ragaciems. Tracks perpendicular to the highway are *very* sandy.

Plan to stay a bit, the view from the plateform is great and you can loose notion of the time observing the numerous birds taking off and landing on the lake.

While a MTB is likely best, this can also be done with a trekking/touring bike for slightly more adventurous riders. (I would advise against trying with 40liter of luggage on the rack though)

A viewing platform allows a wide view of Lake Kaņieris. A paradise for bird watchers. More information: https://www.visittukums.lv/en/What-to-see/Nature-places/Lake-Kanieris-with-bird-waching-tower-and-trail.
