The summit of Mount Ohlssen Bagge is fantastic, with panoramic views across Wilpena Pound, the Heysen Range, and the surrounding Flinders Ranges. There are rocky outcrops that offer excellent vantage points to appreciate the scale of your surroundings, and plenty of spots to take a break and soak in the scenery before making your way back.

Mount Ohlssen Bagge Hike is a steady ascent through rugged and rocky terrain, bringing you to one of the best viewpoints of Wilpena Pound. As you climb, the views of the natural amphitheatre and the surrounding Flinders Ranges become increasingly impressive. Keep an eye out for soaring wedge-tailed eagles and kangaroos on the lower slopes, and when you reach the summit, the sweeping panorama of the ancient landscape is an outstanding finish to this beautiful walk.

The Wilpena Pound Visitor Centre is the main gateway to Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park, and is a great stop before your walk, where you can pick up a map, get trail advice, and current park conditions. You can also purchase park entry and camping permits here before setting out on the park’s walking tracks. The centre is situated right next to the campground and resort, and is the starting point for many of the park’s most popular walks.

Hills Homestead is a restored, historic settler's cottage built between 1899 and 1914. Nowadays visitors can't go inside, but there is quite a bit to read up on outside with interpretive signage. This site is a great place for a break on a bushwalk, as there are also picnic tables and toilets.
