This is a great highlight. The picture looks as if it was taken in winter. On the bike tours that I occasionally repeat, I also have places where it is a bit difficult to find a way with the bike. I passed this spot four days ago, on 24.6.26, on my bike tour from Kummerfeld via Borstel-Hohenraden to Ellerhoop.

very good to ride even in warm weather. Always fresh air. For road bikes, the surface is a bit strenuous.

Beautiful landscape in the Bilsbek lowlands. I am adding two pictures of a fallen tree blocking the path. As I looked around, two other cyclists arrived. The man of the two energetically grabbed his bike and lifted it over the branches. Afterwards, he helped his partner and then me. I am adding more pictures, showing the path that leads across a meadow, a dirt path and a proper bridge. Between the dirt path and the proper bridge lies a wooden bridge without a railing. It is a great highlight to meet such helpful cyclists!

To explore the Himmelmoor on foot, there are two circular hiking trails: the Inner Moor Trail and the Outer Moor Trail. You can also walk along the South Dam and the East Dam. Another hiking trail follows the tracks of the old peat railway. All of these trails are marked on the information board. Since 2012, there has also been a bridleway around the moor. Several viewing platforms provide an overview of the parcels.
