If there’s no room in the castle car park, there’s better space around the corner in the village

It is in a tranquil setting and the Tugford Brook runs next to the church which once was the beating heartbeat of the village as it run a nearby mill.

Norman Castle that is now an impressive ruin. Run by English Heritage and a fine place to explore.

Whitcliffe Common lies to the north of Ludlow, rising above the ruined castle and the meandering River Teme. A network of footpaths explores the common, woodland and riverside. Not for bikes, but a very pleasant place to stop for a mid-ride rest or picnic, and the views out across the common to the Clee Hills from the road are fantastic.
