September 23, 2026, Falls of Falloch

The Falls of Falloch are located directly on the West Highland Way and are among the most impressive waterfalls along the route. The River Falloch plunges around ten meters over rocks into a deep pool here. After the heavy rainfall of the past few days, the river was carrying a particularly large amount of water. The roar could be heard from afar – Scotland once again showed its wet side.

Attention the Beinglas Farm - Beinglas waterfall tour takes at least 5 hours and is very difficult on the part along the river. Level differences of more than 0.5m. Special skills required and walking sticks required. The path is sometimes difficult to find in this section, it is interrupted by fences and follows a formed stream. Near the waterfall the route is also dangerous due to the risk of falling. Gr. Wim and Sabrine

Situated at the pass of Glencoe, there is limited parking at the side of the road. From there a short walk down from the road. There are also a few paths to the hills from here, as well as a path from further down the glen.

A small car park off the A82 allows parking near the falls, and a walk along the path to a viewpoint.

Bealach Dearg is a high col between the Bidean massif's two Munros, with Stob Coire Sgreamhach to the east and Bidean Nam Bian to the northwest. It stands at the head of the Lost Valley and enjoys a beautiful view down the length of this huge corrie – a superb place to ponder the immensity of the natural forces that sculpted the landscape. The path down into – or up from, if you're ascending – the Lost Valley is very steep and a little loose in its upper section. Take your time and take care. Bear in mind that after periods of heavy snowfall, there is avalanche risk here.
