Leubnitz Castle, located not far from Plauen, was built in 1794 by Captain Heinrich Wilhelm von Kospoth as an early neoclassical residential palace. It was owned by the von Kospoth family until 1945, when it was expropriated as part of the land reform. The building has since been renovated and is open to visitors again. It is owned by the municipality of Rosenbach/Vogtl. The Friends of Leubnitz Castle Association manages its day-to-day operations. The permanent exhibition "Nature and Hunting" offers a diverse range of exhibits, providing an experience for young and old. Children, in particular, can learn about the local flora and fauna using all their senses in the "Nature Learning Center." According to tradition, the former knight's castle was built around 1320. At that time, the surrounding area belonged to the Lords of Lobdaburg-Elsterberg. The castle was likely damaged by fire during the Thirty Years' War. Reconstruction was completed in 1643. .... In 1904, the Völkel family became owners of the complex and subsequently built the estate park, which served as a family recreation area and included a bathhouse and a tennis court. From 1947 to 1973, the castle served as a school. The listed building was almost completely demolished between 1993 and 1998 and, like the small round tower, rebuilt in the original style. Today, it houses a hotel and a restaurant. Since 2006, a medieval spectacle has been held annually around the castle.

Parts of the palace, the stair tower and the surrounding wall can still be seen on the ruins. The castle can always be viewed from the outside. In summer, the trees obscure the view a little, but this does not detract from the romantic and fairytale atmosphere of the castle. You can easily walk around the almost triangular plateau on which the castle stands. This offers a wonderful view of the Elster Valley. A beautiful spot, an enchanted castle ruin. On Heritage Day you can also climb the tower, then it is open. We were lucky enough to do so once. It's worth it. Great view.
