Bäckerei Wiech For several generations, the art of baking has been at home in the Wiech family. True to the motto "Quality and freshness from traditional baking craft", their baked goods are still made today from original, genuine craftsmanship. The aim of Bäckerei Wiech is to offer you the best quality, fresh from the oven. Classic baking is a lived tradition here. "Not from the conveyor belt, but by hand" is the motto. This is precisely what customers appreciate, and you can taste it. The bakery in Falltorstraße is centrally located and therefore ideally accessible. Since 1992, you will find numerous specialties here alongside typical baked goods such as rolls, bread, and pretzels. These can be seasonal products (e.g. Mutscheln), but also extraordinary items, such as Fußballweckle or Mother's Day bread. Spelt products are particularly popular. For a snack on the go, various cold and hot drinks complete the offering. The Mössingen family bakery Wiech proves: chemistry and machines do not replace craftsmanship from a master hand. You can taste it! We offer numerous delicacies from our own production, such as Bread, rolls, pretzels, and more Cakes for every occasion from our own confectionery Spelt products, ideal for allergy sufferers In addition, the bakery is a cooperation partner of the "Mössinger Picknicksäckle". The Sudhaus Socio-Cultural Center is located on Hechinger Straße (B27) in the Derendingen district, on the southern edge of Tübingen. The name recalls the building's origins. It was once a brewery and tavern, the Waldhörnle. The Sudhaus offers two event spaces: a theater with approximately 100 seats and a large hall with standing room for about 300. There is also an adjacent beer garden with a stage for live events such as open-air music or football matches. The program is diverse, ranging from children's theater and cabaret to comedy and numerous music and party nights, including the Full Moon Dance and "Singing Out for the Soul." The Sudhaus was built in the mid-19th century as the Waldhörnle Brewery and then operated as the Beck furniture company from 1927 to 1987. A History of the Derendingen Brewery Site with Pictures (by Michael Rousselle) Since 1988, the brewery site has been used as a cultural and commercial center by a diverse group of tenants. The City of Tübingen owns the site, and the Sudhaus e.V. association leases the entire premises. The association, in turn, rents approximately 3,000 square meters to artists of all disciplines for permanent or partial use. As the organizer, or in cooperation with other cultural initiatives, it designs and organizes the cultural program and bears overall organizational responsibility for the project. It is a shareholder in Sudhaus Gastronomie-GmbH (a catering company). The association is a member of the State Association of Cultural Initiatives and Sociocultural Centers in Baden-Württemberg. The Sudhaus has expanded its large event space into a hall with approximately 600 seats or nearly 1,000 standing places for concerts and is now (2022) significantly better equipped.
