Cycle path signs at intersections! I finally know which direction to cycle in! Who would have thought a sign could show me my destination? A true milestone of modern civilization. Without this Komoot highlight, I'd probably be cycling in circles, disoriented.

Sorry, you may not have noticed, but you can also navigate from one highlight to another in Komoot! Other counties assign numbers to intersections and signposts and then refer to them as junctions, making it easy to find your route from one junction to the next. Not every cyclist has a Garmin or a Bosch smart system or something similar.

You can also overdo it with the "highlights". Marking every sign for cyclists as a "highlight" doesn't really make sense. A highlight should be a place worth seeing, or at least a place to rest (with the opportunity to sit down). Unfortunately, Komoot is being flooded with loads of "highlights" that aren't really highlights. This is just as annoying as the many "highlights" that have been created twice or three times (there have already been quite a few more in this area). Please check first whether a highlight already exists for a place before you create a new one. Otherwise Komoot will become increasingly confusing.

On the wall of the pumping station there is a mosaic that is supposed to depict the course of the Jeetzel and the canals.

Pisselberg is a small village between Dannenberg and Hitzacker. There used to be a train station on the Lüneburg-Dannenberg line in Pisselberg. The railway line is still in operation, but the train doesn't stop in Pisselberg these days (if you ask and have a lot of luggage, the engine driver might make an exception). There is also a road from Dannenberg via Pisselberg to Hitzacker, which I mostly use when I ride my bike to Hitzacker, because there is less traffic and it is also shorter than on the main route.

Sallahn (slav. Sol '= salt) is a district of the municipality of coastal in the joint municipality of Lüchow. From here you can start a run very well. The surrounding forest is great for running. You have the choice between forest floor, cobblestone paths and gravel paths. The roads from Sareitz to Sallahn are hardly used. It is also suitable as a final stretch for a sprint.
