Great alternative if the ford is not passable

We rode the route yesterday. Had to carry the bikes over fallen trees several times. Only for hardened mountain bikers. Very difficult to ride with an e-bike. Rugged, muddy sections.

I would advise against cycling through the Schierenwald forest: long muddy stretches with deep puddles, the terrain is completely torn up due to felling work, it is only for adventure mountain bikers.

Several fords cross the wide gravel forest path in the Schierenwald. The small bridge is therefore very convenient for hikers.

This boundary stone of the Rantzau family stands on the wide gravel main forest road.
