Lerup Church is situated in the scenic countryside that surrounds Fossdalen. Historically, the church is closely linked to the holy spring in Fossdalen. It was performed in the late 11th century and dedicated as Vor Frue (in honor of the Virgin Mary). The tower dates from around the 15th century and the entrance is more recent https://www.visitnordvestkysten.de/nordvestkysten/planen/lerup-kirche-gdk597257

It stands plain and still without a village in the middle of the countryside. It's worth going in for a bit.

Built in the 12th century, the church was of great importance during Catholic times as the site of the lively markets held here. It consists of a Romanesque chancel and nave with a late Gothic tower at the west end and a new date portal on the south side of the nave. The Romanesque sections are built of well-hewn granite blocks on a sloping base. The south portal is still in use. It is rectangular, as is the walled-up north door, the outline of which is visible from the outside beneath a more recent window. The two Romanesque round-arched windows of the chancel are still in use, one in each side wall, and a monolithic lintel is embedded in the north wall of the nave, its two present windows having cement frames. Inside, the round chancel arch with its sloping collar stones has been slightly widened, as evidenced by the fact that the stones in the lintel were cut for a narrower arch. ... A folded pointed-arch window is set into the south wall, and a similar one is located on the mezzanine level to the north. The church masonry, with the exception of the whitewashed spire, remains unplastered, and the roofs are covered with red tiles. The tower was built in the late Gothic period using recycled square timber from the west gable of the nave, reclaimed stone blocks, and a considerable quantity of boulders. The lower room originally had a vaulted ceiling, which was later removed. The pointed arch of the tower, leading into the nave, is closed off by a timber-framed wall. The entire upper part of the tower, which features smooth gables facing east and west, is largely enclosed in masonry. https://www-kirkehistorie-dk.
