Ivanec Park is one of the most beautiful places in Ivanec and an example of beautiful landscape architecture. The once neglected pond and meadow were transformed into an English meadow, thanks to Božidar Kukuljević Sakcinski. At the entrance to the park there is a flower fountain built in 2006, which serves as a memorial to the real fountain that existed in that place in the last century. The former fountain in Ivanac was made by the artist F. Maruzzi from Zagreb. The recently renovated park now includes a newly built pavilion that attracts guests to various events throughout the year. Ivanečki Park is considered the most beautiful postcard of the city, and during events, it becomes a particularly vibrant place full of positive energy. The chapel of the Blessed Virgin Mary was once located in this area, which Ladislav Kukuljević Sakcinski had built in 1881 as a memorial to his wife. Unfortunately, the chapel was destroyed by lightning in 1961, but its traces still bear witness to the history of this place. Within the park, you can also visit the Visitor Center where you will learn more about the rich history of this area.

Ivanec parish is mentioned for the first time 1️⃣5️⃣4️⃣7️⃣. year. The reason for the late establishment of the parish is the absence of a parish church, and the reason for this was the ecclesiastical authority of the Ivano-vivi of Belje and their chapel of St. John the Baptist in Ivanec, which existed until 1674. The parish church of St. Mary Magdalene was built by Ladislav Erdödy and his wife, and it got its present form by rebuilding the older church. 💒
