In 1836, a bridge over the river Lika was built near the village of Kaluđerovac. The bridge was built of stone (hard gray limestone) on the municipal road that leads from Perušić to the village of Klanac. The opening of the bridge under the arch is 28.80 meters wide. The right and left banks of Lika are cavernous and very steep, and the bridge rises a full 30 meters above the river.

Town of Gospić with beautiful old houses. Gospić is the first town you encounter after crossing the park and forests of Velebit. You will surely appreciate a little animation and civilization after several days of driving off the beaten track. The city has cafes, restaurants and pretty squares. The river Movcica crosses this village.

The Gacka has always been an inexhaustible source of food, the many mills, also called the sources of Gacka (Vrela Gacke), which you can still visit today, are the best memory of the time in which men lived for the river. In addition to the production of flour, clothes were washed here and wood cut, while the resa – the aquatic vegetation ideal for feeding livestock – was extracted from the river.
