Kotelnica (946 m a.s.l.) – a peak in the Lubań Range in the Gorce Mountains. The name of the peak comes from the colloquial word kotelnica, which has two meanings: a basin (or other depression) or a place for sheep to lamb (and overwinter). Geographical names derived from this word are found in many places in the Carpathians, and in the Lubań Range, a dozen or so more times. It should be noted that Jan Karłowicz's "Dictionary of Polish Dialects" (1901) lists the name kotelnica only in relation to sheep and as the name of a meadow[5]. In the case of the mountain in question, only the meaning as a place for sheep is current and is related to the widely practiced sheep farming here. As for PTTK shelters, it's quite a surprise, the conditions are more hotel-like than shelter-like, the food is perfectly fine - prices are acceptable, possibility to store bikes in a so-called shed - an annex behind the shelter, rooms facing the summit with small terraces and a beautiful view of Trzy Korony.

Turbacz is the highest peak of the Gorce Mountains, a small range in the Western Beskids, which is part of the Crown of Polish Mountains. The Gorce range is largely an area of the Gorczański National Park, however, the peak itself lies outside its borders. At the summit, there is an obelisk, an iron cross, an information board, a table, and benches. From here, you can admire the beautiful panorama of the Tatra Mountains. Below the summit is the PTTK Shelter named after Władysław Orkan on Turbacz.

For a shelter, the food is quite good, especially the sweet snacks - cheesecake, apple pie, normal prices, quite crowded in season and it's better to book accommodation in advance. In good weather, you can eat a meal outside with a beautiful free view of the Tatra Mountains.

From the mountain hut to the summit of Turbacz is really not far. The view is worth the entire trip.

The last section is a scree path with a 31 percent gradient if you're coming from the yellow-white, red-white, and green-white trails... You should know that, which is why I sent you the photo. The tower is an experience... The yellow-white trail is very unpleasant as a climb.
