Fort V („Włochy“) – one of the forts of the outer ring of the Warsaw Fortress, built in the 1880s. The previous one in sequence is fort IV „Chrzanów“, and the next one is fort VI „Okęcie“.

Fast asphalt (low resistance), almost always windy, lots of people on weekends, but still worth it...

The fort, designed to protect the Warsaw-Vienna Railway line and the approaches to Warsaw from the west, is a fort typical of Russian fortifications of that period and forts built in Warsaw. The fort has survived in good condition to this day. The area of the fort in its neck and on the esplanade (in front of the front) is occupied by a cemetery. There are barracks preserved in very good condition, a barracks postern on the axis and ruins of caponiers and a blown-up traditor. The very legible earth layout of the fort, including the rampart and esplanade, has been devastated and erased in recent years. The fort is included in the revitalization plan of the Włochy District Office. The outline of the ramparts is to include a playing field and tennis courts as well as recreational areas for the residents of the district. By March 2015, under the supervision of designer Małgorzata Pastewka, the historical earth ramparts on the left shoulder of the fort had been recreated and the dry moat was restored. The barracks building is looked after by the Foundation for the Protection of Military Technology Monuments, which is in the process of creating an open-air museum of military equipment there.
