Today we visited the tower and explored the accessible rooms. The ground floor doors were closed, while the upstairs room with a nature photography exhibition was open, and of course, the viewing gallery on the second floor. Right across the asphalt road between the tower and the panorama, in an area slightly higher than the base of the observation tower, someone has planted spruce trees along the road. 😮 The observation deck on the tower is 9 meters high. I was looking for information on how long it will take for the spruce trees to reach this height and block the view. The observation tower in Czarnorzeki is a new attraction in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, located near Krosno. It opened in July 2020 and is already attracting tourists. The tower has 3 floors. On the ground floor you will be able to see exhibitions and galleries of various artists. Above, there is an exhibition of photographs about Korczyna and Czarnorzki, and at the very top there are beautiful views. Some important information: Admission is free, These are the opening hours: from April 1 to September 30, the tower is open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. In other months from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There is no designated parking lot under the tower. There are several places along the road for 6 cars. There may be a problem on weekends. The access roads are very narrow, so some people may have trouble getting there (...) Ruins of a Gothic castle from the 14th century, expanded in the 16th century in the Renaissance style. The building is located on a rock at an altitude of 452 m above sea level. There is an interesting nature trail running around. There is a parking lot nearby (towards Podzamcze), but several cars can also fit in the lay-by next to the road.

It is the only underground railway shelter in Poland and the second of the facilities designed to protect German trains in the current Podkarpackie Voivodeship. When in August 1941 Adolf Hitler received Benito Mussolini in nearby Stępina, his armored train "Amerika" was hidden from the "sight" of the allies in Strzyżów. The railway shelter is hidden inside Żarnowska Góra. It is 438 m long and the ceiling is almost 6.5 m high. Like the above-ground structure in Stępin, this one was also built in 1940-41. The walls of the tunnel were made of concrete and reinforced concrete, and the vaults were made of clinker bricks. The entrances to the tunnel on both sides were closed by 11-meter-long vestibules, each of which was equipped with powerful two-part iron doors. Cholera - a disease that spread fear in the Polish lands in the 19th century. Today it has almost been repressed, and the memory of its terrible effects has been somewhat obscured by other terrible diseases of the present day (...). Infection with cholera occurred mainly through the alimentary route, most often as a result of drinking water contaminated with faeces or after eating contaminated food. Cholera bacteria were also transmitted through contact with an infected person, e.g. through dirty hands. (...) In the past, the choleric cemetery in Głowienka occupied a large area in Jaworze (the common name of the area where it is located). It was surrounded by a blackthorn fence and in its central part there was a large wooden cross. Two trees, an ash and a linden, grew in opposite corners.
