Rewal Decorative Boat Landmark

Highlight • Monument

Rewahl was originally a small fishing and farming village. In 1784 there was a half-peasant, a tavern, a schoolmaster, 14 fisherman's cottages and 17 fire pits. [4] Some of the fisherman's cottages belonged to the noble estate Hoff. [5] The parish of Rewahl was parish in the parish of Hoff of the Cammin Synod.

The place is surrounded by fertile fields and gardens on a high grassy clay bank. It evolved over time into a simple, modest seaside resort. The water of the Baltic Sea is extremely clean here, the local microclimate is good, the air contains large amounts of iodine and is not polluted. From the steep bank lead stairs to the wide sandy beach.

In 1896 the narrow-gauge railway from Greifenberg to the seaside resort Horst was built. The track width was up to 1900 750 mm. After that it was changed to 1000 mm. In 1913 the railway line was extended via Broitz to Treptow on the Rega.

Towards the end of the Second World War, the region was conquered by the Red Army in the spring of 1945 and then - like all of Pomerania - placed under Polish administration. There was an immigration of Poles who seized the homes and property of the German civilian population. In the period until about 1947, the Germans were expelled from their place due to the Bierut decrees. The name of the German village Rewahl was changed to Rewal.

In 1991 and 1996, the southern railway line was closed and in 1999 also the fragment of the western line from Pogorzelica (Fischerkaten) to Trzebiatów (Treptow). After a major refurbishment of the Gryfice-Pogorzelica line, there will once again be a heritage railway operation along newly renovated station buildings. In Rewal municipality there are five railway stations of "Nadmorska Kolej Wąskotorówka": Trzęsacz, Rewal, Śliwin, Niechorze and Pogorzelica.

Very few bike paths, too often on country roads without bike paths. Roadsides are unpaved or have dangerous tarmac edges. This makes the circular route problematic. As far as the bike path in the forest goes, the ride was pleasant.

The last time a piece broke away was in 1994. Now only the south side of the church remains. The question is how much longer 😬

Trzęsacz is famous for its impressive observation deck, which offers breathtaking views of the surrounding area. It is located on the top of a cliff, right next to the ruins of the Church of St. Nicholas. From the platform, you can enjoy a wide view of the Baltic Sea, the rolling sea and the picturesque coastline. It is the perfect place for taking photos to capture the beauty of the place. Especially at sunset, the observation deck becomes a magical vantage point from which you can admire the spectacular colors of the sky. More info here: https://clifftrzesacz.pl/en/okolica

The hike up to the lighthouse was definitely worth it. There's a covered area at the top for picnics and a rest. The atmosphere in the forest is wonderful, as you can hear the sea in the background. Highly recommended!

Great atmosphere, in the middle of the forest and yet you can hear the sea. The path is worth it, sometimes really steep and very quiet.
