Depending on the route, the stretch to the tower can be strenuous. Especially the last 20 meters are not passable. If you are on a bicycle, you will have to push it (very likely). Next to the tower, there is naturally a garden bench with a table and some interesting information boards. The tower should be climbed by first making a donation in the small cash box next to the stairs. I think this is very good because the tower is not in good condition and will need renovation soon. The view from the top is so beautiful. You can see everything in 360 degrees. That's why I hope the tower will be renovated instead of just being left as it is.

February 5, 2026, Müssenberg Summit

Müssenberg Summit (427 m) The Müssenberg is Müschede's local mountain and one of the most popular hiking destinations in the Arnsberg Forest. The ascent follows well-maintained paths that become noticeably steeper in the last third – a short rest on the benches before the final climb is well worth it. At the top, the summit cross awaits you with a panoramic view over Arnsberg, the Sorpe Reservoir dam, and, on a clear day, as far as the Haarstrang ridge. The numerous entries in the summit register demonstrate how much this peak is valued as a local landmark. A destination that impresses not with its height, but with its atmosphere, the view, and the joy of reaching the cross. https://mueschede.de/unser-dorf/rund-um-mueschede/der-muessenberg/

The Bismarck Tower on the Haar ridge is one of the most striking viewpoints around Lake Möhne. Originally planned in 1912 and not completed until 1934, the tower tells a fascinating story – from unfinished construction plans and military use to its current role as a monument and observation tower. In good weather, it offers sweeping views across the Soest Börde region, Lake Möhne, and the Arnsberg Forest. As the highest point of the Haar ridge, it's a worthwhile stop to experience the natural panorama. https://www.moehnesee.de/de/neusta-pois/bismarckturm-moehnesee
