Maribor's main bridge over the Drava (popularly known as the Stari Most, or Old Bridge) was built between 1909 and 1913. It replaced a previous wooden bridge a few meters further west. The bridge, which was an important part of the transport connection between Vienna and Trieste in Austria-Hungary, is 274 meters long, 122 meters of which actually span the Drava. Since 2023, the Splavarska Brv pedestrian and cyclist bridge has been docked to the Old Bridge.

The city park is huge, considering the area of the city of Maribor. It contains a variety of very old wonderful trees, a pavilion, benches, some lakes and a long promenade at the end of which a small kiosk with deck chairs and cool drinks awaits customers. A wonderful place to stroll and chill, especially when it's very hot. Drinking water dispensers quench spontaneous thirst.

An iron bridge over the Drau. There are nozzles attached to the supports that spray very cool water features over the river.
