The Parrish Creek and Buckland Ridge Trail Loop offers a truly challenging mountain biking experience through the stunning Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. You'll navigate a demanding 14.7-mile (23.7 km) route, gaining 3810 feet (1161 metres) in elevation, with the Parrish Creek section renowned for its technical downhill features like small drops and tight switchbacks. Expect picturesque mountain scenery and expansive views as you ride the ridge between Parrish Canyon and Centerville Canyon, but be ready for sections that may require dismounting due to extreme technicality or overgrown singletrack.

Planning your ride on this difficult trail is key, with an estimated duration of 3 hours and 14 minutes. The optimal season runs from late spring to early fall, after snowmelt. While there's trailhead parking, some riders choose to shuttle or ride up Buckland Ridge Trail or Skyline Drive to ease the climb. Remember that the trail is shared with hikers, so always be courteous, and dogs are permitted on leash.

This loop is a serious test of advanced riding skills and fitness, making it a standout for experienced mountain bikers in the Centerville area. The terrain varies from natural ground on Buckland Ridge to the black diamond difficulty of Parrish Creek, which includes rock obstacles and vague paths. It's a rewarding journey for those seeking a high-adrenaline ride amidst the natural beauty of the Wasatch Front.

July 3, 2025, Mueller Park Elephant Rock Turnoff to Bonneville Shoreline Trail

I always continue up past Elephant Rock. This time I’m glad I took the split off to BST instead. Low traffic and lots of wildlife.

A challenging downhill ride with technical sections, including small drops and rocky areas. Some parts of the trail can be overgrown, making the singletrack narrow, so exercise caution, especially on descents. While there are fun sections, this trail is best suited for experienced riders. It’s primarily used for hiking, so be considerate of uphill travelers. To avoid a strenuous climb, consider shuttling or riding up Buckland Ridge Trail or Skyline Drive before descending.
