July 8, 2024, Breckinridge Trail

This paved trail runs the length of the park and connects to many of the other trails. Much of it is unshaded but there are some sections that run through the woods and offer some nice shade on warm days.

The trail winds right along the side of the pond and is often frequented by waterfowl. From here you can follow the path north into neighborhoods or south to the rest of the park and trail network.

The trail is paved cement and makes for a fast, flat run. You get some shade as it makes a small loop through the woods here.

Now a conference and event centre, but Southfork was the home of JR and the rest of the Dallas cast. Filming location for the original 70s show, and the modern remake, a must for any Dallas (or TV) fans.
