The place is strange. The French blew up a German bunker. During the demolition, the bunker ceiling rose vertically. Instead of making this place part of the culture of remembrance, Catholics erected a Way of the Cross in front of it. One has nothing to do with the other. And so it is a strange place with a penitent's bench and a cross and a Way of the Cross. It is not a place of remembrance, because the memory of war and devastation in the region has been maximally negated at this spot.

In this area you will often come across the so-called "Dragon's Teeth", anti-tank barriers of the West Wall. There is even a nice, shady rest area right next door.

It forms the core of the district of Peterskirchen on the left bank of the Our. https://de.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Peter_und_Paul_(Ouren)

The church, known as "St. Peter's Church", is striking from the outside with its curved dome above the octagonal choir. This mid-18th century building faces the heavy west tower, the core of which is apparently of Romanesque origin. The entrance with round arches is preceded by a low hall with a stained glass window. It bathes the church with its Romanesque traces and rococo decorations in a contemporary light, without being in disharmony with the interior.
