Camp Michaux, was a hush hush POW camp during World War 2. It was so secret that even the locals didn't know exactly what sinister happenings were taking place here in the woods of south-central Pennsylvania. In its 30 months of service, thousands of German and Japanese officers were interrogated here by American military intelligence.

This a local walk for me but it is a beautiful and scenic walk with history of various era's in Central Pa. Has an intersection with AT, State Park for all forms of recreation, remains of the Iron Furnace, an old local swimming pool hidden along Mountain Creek, hand built, old grave yard of furnace workers and families, the railroad bed used to transport goods and people, and a short hike on the AT to a trail spur where WWII prisoners of war were incarcerated, and varied beauty to behold and enjoy. That is the short list. Enjoy the journey.
