The Glenwood Gardens property plays host to different garden plots, exhibits, overlooks, and walking trails. Most of the paths create loops, are flat, and are easy to follow. The West Fork Mill Creek Greenway passes right by the entrance to the gardens in case you want to extend your walk.

Buckeye Falls in Sharon Woods Park is a small waterfall that drops roughly 10 feet in height. The falls are easily accessible via the Gorge Trail. Being one of the only waterfalls in the Cincinnati area, it is definitely worth the visit to Sharon Woods.

Are there many hiking trails to choose from around Evendale?

Yes, there are over a dozen curated hiking routes in the Evendale area. The majority are easy, well-suited for casual walks, with a couple of moderate options for those seeking a bit more of a challenge. The trails typically explore local nature preserves and larger county parks.

Are the hiking trails near Evendale suitable for families with children?

Absolutely. The region is great for family outings. Many trails, like those in the Griffin Family Nature Preserve, are paved and easy for all ages. For a slightly longer but still very manageable walk, the Sharon Woods Lake loop from Sharonville is a popular choice that follows the shoreline of the lake.

Can I take my dog on the hiking trails?

Many parks in the area are dog-friendly, but policies require dogs to be on a leash. Parks like Mt. Airy Forest are particularly popular with dog owners, offering plenty of space and designated off-leash areas. Always check the specific park's regulations before you go.

What are some good circular walks in the area?

Most of the popular trails near Evendale are loops, making logistics easy. The Winton Lake loop from Greenhills Historic District is a great example of a straightforward and scenic circular path around a portion of the lake.

Are there any fees for parking or entering the parks?

While many local preserves like Griffin Family Nature Preserve are free to access, larger regional parks managed by Great Parks of Hamilton County, such as Sharon Woods and Winton Woods, typically require a vehicle permit for entry. It's best to check their official website for current fees and information.
