September 18, 2025, View of Lake George from Prospect Mountain Summit

The trail from the Lake George Rec Center is a lot nicer. It is gentler and follows a stream for about half the way.

This is a fantastic trail that winds through undisturbed wetlands, connecting the Gurney Lane Recreation Area with the Queensbury School campus. Its wide, well-maintained path and handcrafted bridges make it ideal for walking, biking, and winter sports throughout the year. There are plenty of scenic views along the way, and due to its easy access, it’s a favorite quiet spot among locals and visitors alike.

The lower section is not so pleasant to walk on. It's like walking on a dried-up riverbed.

The path is partly steep and sometimes you have to search for it.

The hike starts off spectacularly. A loooong pedestrian bridge welcomes us at the start. 😎
