This road is a treat whether you're heading up or downhill. Lake Sebago is gorgeous as well and a great place to have a water break after the climb.

While cycling along this stretch, you'll have good views of Franklin Lake to the south. This is one of the several lakes in this area, and it's probably not the only one you'll discover.

February 7, 2024, Shepherd Lake

Shepherd Lake is a beautiful lake in a very scenic setting. There is car parking here, and nearby is some greenspace with benches and some trees, not that many, but some, so you can take in the shade on a hot day if you get the right spot. Nearby is also a beach. It is a nice scenic place to take a break on a tour, or better yet, a great family bike ride location.

This is a lovely park with a few walking trails, a visitor center and gift shop. It is a great place to take the kids to learn more about the local nature. They also hold various events and workshops here, so worth checking their website or social media.
