Tastes differ and that's a good thing, but as a Kempten resident I have struck the Illerweg from Hegge via Martinszell to Stein from my list because it leads a lot through the forest and the mountain view is limited. I don't need to go to the beautiful Allgäu for routes through the forest. The route to Martinszell is one of my favorite routes.

For me as a Kempten resident, an inconvenient cycling distance, and I ate on the way back today. I was too early for the evening menu, though, and I wasn't in the mood for the daily special, goulash. So I ended up with my beloved Swiss sausage salad, which also provides some liquid. The waitress in a Dirndl was friendly and businesslike, she asked if I wanted another coffee even though my Radler wasn't empty yet. I had planned that for a pub in Kempten, however. Maybe next time.

As Kempten residents, we long avoided it, but the path is beautiful along its entire length from Ahegg to Weitnau. I now use the "Protective Wax" from Dynamic and nearby I discovered a pressure washer at the gas station. On the way, I also spotted a hummingbird hawk-moth. Very small but not a hummingbird. https://youtu.be/V8FgTsvxtio

Many small bays for swimming. There are also occasional changing cubicles and portable toilets. Lots of nature. Dogs must be on a leash and are not allowed in the water.
