The sculpture Blickkontakt by Jonas Kötz (2003): The sculpture by Jonas Kötz is made from a so-called "Dalben" from the Port of Hamburg. Dalben are piles driven into the harbor floor for mooring or fending off ships or for marking the fairway. Originally, it was intended as a double figure; a twin sculpture stood in the eastern pond until the wood weathered too much after twenty years. Jonas Kötz was born in Hamburg in 1965 and lives and works on the Elbe island of Krautsand. A great cycling and hiking route leads along here amidst beautiful nature 💚. A visit is recommended and interesting at the same time 👍🏼.

The hiking trail is 4.1 km long and takes about 1 hour to complete the loop. The hiking trail is family-friendly and easy to walk. A great starting point would be in the town center or near the Kaufhaus Mohr department store in Dollern. The route passes the idyllic Buschteich ponds, which are also used for the annual "Buschteichlauf" in the summer. Several benches invite you to linger. The path winds through quiet, beautiful forest and meadow areas as well as along the edge of the Geestkliff, which offers a great view of the Elbe's ancient river valley. Along the way, you can see beautiful old and nicely renovated half-timbered farmhouses. You also walk past the local waterworks. A hike is recommended and interesting at the same time 👍.
