This flat and straight stretch leads through the Bokumer Holz. The canopy provides sun protection and pleasant temperatures. You can really pick up speed here and test at what speed the gravel no longer rattles the handlebars.

Comment from Michael Schütz elsewhere: In 2017, the Bilmer farmer and blacksmith Heinrich Kracke erected his wrought-iron artwork "Crucifixion of Christ" at Eisenwinkel. It is made from the remains of old, unusable agricultural machinery and depicts the horror of Christ's death. Kracke took his cue from the custom of wayside crosses common in Catholic regions. There, crosses are erected in the landscape to make the Christian faith visible. The connection to the material, iron, arises from the fact that not far away, remains of an Iron Age bloomery furnace and thus signs of pre-Christian settlement were recently found.

The summit cross on the Kronsberg marks Hanover's highest point – 118 meters above sea level. It stands on an artificially raised observation hill on the southeastern outskirts of the city, near the Expo site. From here, you can enjoy a sweeping view of the city, the Deister Mountains, and the surrounding countryside.
