I was here in 05.2025 to walk the circular hiking trail „Entdeckerschleife Monheimer Altstadtrunde“ from the NeanderlandSteig. The Rheindamm is one of the many highlights on this route.

🏰🛡⚔️The Rittergut zu Schöller is a striking estate with a manor house, residential tower, stables, outbuildings & a chapel. The buildings frame an inner courtyard, which can be closed with a gate and is surrounded by a wall. Above the entrance of the main house is the year 1884- In 1884, the Schöller estate was built in its present condition by a tenant. 🛡⚔️The origins of the knight's seat appear to date back before the 13th century, as the farmstead was already mentioned in writing📜. The tower is the only preserved structure from this early period of the knight's seat🛡⚔️.

🩵A bit of the Caribbean in NRW 🌴 🌴 This is how you feel with the spectacular view of the "Blue Lagoon🩵"🧭. The lake💙, which belongs to a quarry, is now a popular destination🩵💙. ☀️Especially in sunny weather, the lake shines from the viewing platform in the most beautiful turquoise shades. 💙💚 🩵🌴The Blue Lagoon is a lake, which is used in the limestone quarry for washing the stone. The sediments washed off the stone are returned to the lake and settle there, depending on the sunlight, an ever-changing blue-turquoise can be found 🩵💙🌴. 🩵😯🫨Very impressive to see the depth of the quarry pit, embedded in beautiful nature/a great panorama- a completely different photo location 📸

Haus Graven moated castle was probably built around 1300 as a successor to the "Motte Schwanenmühle" located approximately 800 meters to the north. The castle was completely destroyed, and the outer bailey was rebuilt around 1700.
