The Church of St. John is located at Hauptstraße 272 in Dietzhausen, a district of the independent city of Suhl in Thuringia. The first church was destroyed in 1634. The hall church built in 1681/82 is a slate half-timbered church that looks like a two-storey residential building. It has a half-hipped roof, from which a six-sided ridge turret with hood protrudes. The interior with its one-storey gallery is spanned by a profiled wooden beam ceiling. The polygonal basket of the pulpit in the south-east corner, according to the 1684 inscription, has twisted columns. The evangelists, Peter and Christ stand in shell-shaped niches in the bays of its parapets. The baptismal angel also dates from 1684. The baroque organ above the altar on the east gallery was built in 1770 by Johann Ernst Döring. (Source: https://de.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Johannes_(Dietzhausen)

built at the end of the 13th century, demolished at the beginning of the 19th century and excavated again in 1960... is freely accessible and not far from the long railway. The short detour is worth it for the Auger alone

Hut right on the way. If you are in the direction of Schmeheim, pull through to the pond, the view from the break is nicer there
