This is where you leave the track if you intend to hike up Maumonght and An Bencullagh. You will not have much by way of distinct paths on the way up, and the going will be boggy too. In addition, there will be a bit of a river crossing using rocks and slippery paths, and overall it will be tough going, but the views out over the Connacht Mountains will make it worthwhile. A good tip is to follow the fence line for as much as possible.
